Thomasville Community Development Corporation Executive Director
The Founding Board of Directors of the Thomasville Community Development Corporation is seeking an experienced community leader to catalyze vibrant neighborhood development. This role will need to galvanize public-private partnerships to create new affordable housing and high-quality infill development in designated neighborhoods. While primarily focusing on housing as a catalyst for neighborhood development, this position will also require leading other community and economic development programming in focused neighborhoods.
Thomasville has long been recognized as an innovative small town with an award-winning Mainstreet, a dedication to historic preservation and environmental conservation, and an early adopter of city-owned broadband. The Thomasville Community Development Corporation seeks to extend that tradition of innovative excellence through entrepreneurial approaches to affordable housing and neighborhood development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, including
● Develop neighborhood partnerships in project planning
● Create community-wide trust in TCDC’s strategy
● Partner with existing agencies to increase access to safe and affordable housing, increase home ownership, and decrease vacant properties in targeted neighborhoods
● Identify potential funding sources
● Establish effective financial standards and organizational metrics
● Recommend organizational strategy and work plans with financial models to Board
● Create registry that clearly identifies essential resources for neighborhood vitality
● Ensure broad communication channels to communicate TCDC strategy
● Develop community and statewide partnerships
● Advocate for local policy impacting project outcomes
● Build an appropriate team to reach programmatic outcomes
CORE COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES, including
● Demonstrated people-first outcomes in development of the community
● Experience in organizational development
● Ability to think strategically across multiple domains
● History of success with written and verbal communication
● Successful fundraising and grant writing experience preferred
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary range of $58,000 - $78,000 plus competitive benefits and performance
incentives.
